Smoky Hill Museum’s May First Thursday is about a remarkable Kansas woman most of us have not heard of. Born in Girard, Kansas in 1887, she was a woman who did it all - an American feminist, actress, playwright, civil rights advocate, editor, author and bank president.
Join us as Dr. Kerry Wynn discusses the life of Marcet Haldeman Julius. She would travel to the Soviet Union in the 1930s, serve as a delegate at the National Convention of the Socialist Party of America, and her husband ran for a Senate seat for that party. She would later die in Girard before being buried in Illinois.
This free presentation is offered at the Smoky Hill Museum on May 7, 5:30-6:30 pm. Enjoy the presentation at the Museum or from the comfort of your own home via Zoom. Register for your Zoom link at www.smokyhillmuseum.org.
