2015 Mill and Inlay Road Work
Beginning on Friday, June 19, 2015, City contractors will begin the annual Asphalt Mill and Inlay project on various streets in the City of Salina.
The schedule for June 19 – July 2, weather permitting, is as follows:
June 19 Westwood Road (between Cloud Street and Teakwood Street)
June 29 – July 2 Front Street (between Republic Avenue and Crawford Street)
While the work is in progress, the individual roads will be closed to through traffic. The contractor will begin setting traffic control at 7 am. Residences and businesses will be notified prior to changes in access to properties. On-street parking in work zones will be prohibited. Any vehicles, or equipment, left on the street on the day paving is scheduled may be towed at the owners expense.
This project is a major component of the 2015 Street Maintenance Program. The project consists of milling the existing asphalt street surface 1.5” deep and then resurfacing it with new asphalt to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after resurfacing is complete.
