Mill and Inlay, March 17 – March 22
Beginning on Thursday, March 17, City contractors will begin the annual Asphalt Mill and Inlay project on various streets in the City of Salina.
The schedule for March 17 – March 22, weather permitting, is as follows:
Thursday, March 17 – Monday, March 21
Linda Lane – Neal Avenue to Arrowhead Lane
Friday, March 18 – Tuesday, March 22
Oxford Drive – Belmont Boulevard to Ohio Street
While the work is in progress, the individual roads will be closed to through traffic. The contractor will begin setting traffic control at 7 am. Residences and businesses will be notified prior to changes in access to properties. On-street parking in work zones will be prohibited. Any vehicles, or equipment, left on the street on the day paving is scheduled may be towed at the owners expense.
This project is a major component of the 2016 Street Maintenance Program. The project consists of milling the existing asphalt street surface 1.5” deep and then resurfacing it with new asphalt to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after resurfacing is complete.
