FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE SET FOR JULY 15

(Salina, KS 07-16) Salina Arts & Humanities, in collaboration with downtown stakeholders, announces the next Friday Night Live concert event on July 15th. Friday Night Live is a series of arts and entertainment programming for Salina residents and visitors designed to increase attendance and participation in arts-related events and to strengthen partnerships with local business owners in the downtown arts district.  Each week, a free-admission Friday Night Live concert will feature music and poetry events in restaurants, bars, outdoor plazas and other venues.
     
This week’s Friday Night Live performance is That Sound Downtown hosted by Morgan Allred. That Sound Downtown is a monthly series comprised primarily of comedy and poetic open-mic performances, showcasing local and regional talent. The July 15 edition features spoken word artists Conscious & B-Hall, a hip-hop duo from McPherson, KS, along with Dane Gerous Schmidt, a comedic radio personality from
Manhattan, KS.

The show is from
7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Ad Astra Books & Coffee House, 141 N. Santa Fe. Admission to That Sound Downtown for July is free of charge, thanks to Friday Night Live sponsorship. It is recommended that persons under the age of 16 be accompanied by a parent, as some content may be explicit in nature.
