2/22/2018 - Smoky Hill River Festival 2018 Seeks Committee Members and Volunteers

Staff and civic leaders of the Smoky Hill River Festival invite Salinans ages 13 and up to apply for openings on various River Festival 2018 committees and work groups.

Individuals who enjoy teaching crafts and activities, managing others and assisting out-of-town guests, including artists and vendors, are encouraged to apply before Monday, April 9.

Alongside volunteering, committees for which leaders are sought include Arts Ambassadors, the Artyopolis children’s area, Entertainment, Food, Gates, Hospitality, Parking and numerous areas in Visual Arts. Volunteers also are needed for some pre-Festival office work.

For most on-site tasks, volunteers serve two or three-hour shifts, often working outdoors in the shade. Individuals, families, church groups, sororities/fraternities, sports teams, clubs, and teams of employees are invited to apply. Up to 250 individual volunteers are needed in some areas of Festival work. Volunteers must be 13 or older and are required to purchase and wear a River Festival admission button, also good for attending throughout the weekend.
