The Smoky Hill Museum’s upcoming exhibit, Spark!, promise to spark your interest, imagination and curiosity. This entirely hands-on exhibit is one you will not want to miss. Spark! will be on exhibit October 8 – March 23, 2014.
We have searched the basement and have refurbished some of the best-received interactive elements from the past. Don't worry, if this sounds like a museum's version of a clip show, it's not. You will also find that this exhibit is a place of experimentation and has some new items to test.
If you have not heard, the museum is in the process of creating a new hands-on children’s area. During development, a certain amount of testing needs to take place. That is where Spark! comes in. In order to get good feedback, we are rolling out prototypes for you, the visitor, to try-out. These will include a tornado tube and a wind room just to name a few. After you have completed your visit, we would love to know what you think. This is your chance to get involved. Not only will you help us out, you will enjoy time in our current exhibit.
This exhibit is free and open to the public during regular museum hours, Tuesdays-Fridays noon to 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00 pm October 8 – March 23, 2014.
