PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE ON NAMING OF MUNICIPAL FACILITIES
The City Commission will hold a meeting on naming initiatives requested by:
- the Friends of the River Foundation for the review of a naming action related to a donor, the Earl Bane Foundation, for a future trail located at Founders Park to be built as part of the Smoky Hill River Renewal Project;
- Salina Downtown, Inc. for the review of the proposed name of City Lights Pavilion for the parking lot at the corner of Santa Fe Avenue and Ash Street, which area includes the previously named City Lights Stage;
- the Friends of the River Foundation for the review of the proposed name of Kubota Plaza for a future plaza to be built as part of the Smoky Hill River Renewal Project located at 4th Street south of Iron Avenue; and
- the Friends of the River Foundation for the review of a naming action related to donors, Roy & Donice Applequist, for a future trail system and natural hillside located at Lakewood Park to be built as part of the Smoky Hill River Renewal Project.
These hearings will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the City-County Building located at 300 W. Ash in Room 107.
All interested parties may appear at said meeting and be heard before the City Commission.
