The City of Salina’s Community and Development Services Department announces that a public forum to present proposed updates to building codes will take place on Wednesday, October 29 at 6pm in Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. All interested members of the public are welcome to attend.
On August 9, 2022, the Building Advisory Board (BAB) began code review discussions for the 2018 IBC, 2018 IRC, 2018 UMC, 2018 UPC, 2018 IFC, 2017 NEC, 2018 IEBC, and the 2018 USPHTC. The Building Advisory Board's subcommittees have worked with City staff to review all of the local amendments to the adopted codes and the significant changes from the adopted codes to the proposed codes.

The Building Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday, November 5 at 3pm to consider recommending the draft ordinances to the City Commission. If recommended, the City Commission will consider approval of the ordinances at a future meeting.
