Beginning Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Boretec, LLC will be working in West Walnut Street between South Broadway Boulevard and South Chicago Street. Sidewalk and pavement will be removed to replace two water main valves. Access onto West Walnut Street from South Broadway Boulevard will be prohibited. West Walnut Street will be closed to thru traffic west of South Chicago Street. Residents will be provided access from South Chicago Street. Work is expected to last two days. Reduced lane widths along West Walnut Street will be opened to traffic by August 14, 2025, weather permitting.
Appropriate barriers will be in place to ensure the safety of workers. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to avoid work zones when possible. Pedestrians are asked to follow the posted sidewalk detour.
