Beginning Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the City of Salina will be working in the intersection of W Prescott Ave and Highland Ave. Pavement will be removed to abandon a fire hydrant. Access east onto W Prescott Ave from Highland Ave will be prohibited. W Prescott Ave will be closed to thru traffic west of S Santa Fe Ave. Residents of the 100 block of W Prescott Ave will be provided access from S Santa Fe Ave. Work is expected to last two weeks and be completed by March 3, 2026, weather permitting.
Appropriate barriers will be in place to ensure the safety of workers. Motorists may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to avoid work zones when possible. Pedestrians are asked to follow the posted sidewalk detour.
