Starting Monday, March 10th through Friday, March 14th, APAC Shears of Salina will continue work on the City of Salina's annual ultrathin bonded asphalt surface (UBAS) project. This phase involves adjusting manholes in the areas recently resurfaced as part of this ongoing maintenance effort.
Work will occur on 9th Street from Republic Avenue to Crawford Street, weather permitting. As part of this effort, Republic Avenue will be closed at the intersection of 9th Street beginning Monday, March 10. The closure is expected to last for two days. While no official detours will be in place, motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
UBAS has proven to be a cost-effective solution for extending pavement life across Kansas, and this project reflects the City of Salina’s commitment to maintaining safe and reliable roads. The 2024 UBAS project is fully funded, with a total cost of $642,400.
The City of Salina appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and motorists as we work to improve our streets.
